[Finsok] Green technology company Vertoro won European Union grant for the construction of a lignin plant for Rotterdam the product of which could be used as bunkers for biofuels.The firm won € 2,000,000 ReactEU construction grant 250,000 tons / year a commercial scale biorefinery in Rotterdam, says LinkedIn message.

“This biorefinery will convert industrial wood waste such as sawdust into about 50,000 tonnes of cellulosic ethanol, as well as approximately 125,000 tonnes of Goldilocks lignin-based crude oil,” the company said.
“Our oil has many uses, including as a gasifier and cracker feedstock, and as a marine fuel.”
The use of biofuels in the bunkering industry is growing rapidly as shipping companies strive to reduce their carbon emissions.
