KP Engineering selected as engineering and construction partner for sustainable aviation fuel plants by Agra Energy.
KP Engineering (KPE) has been selected as the engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction management (EPFCm) partner for Agra Energy’s series of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plants. These plants will use gas-to-liquids (GTL) technology to produce SAF and renewable diesel entirely from dairy farm waste effluents.
KPE is thrilled to have been chosen as a trusted partner for this project. William E. Preston, CEO of KPE, expressed his company’s honor and excitement to work alongside Agra, a revolutionary development company focused on turning waste into valuable resources. Preston believes that Agra’s technology will significantly improve the operational sustainability of dairy producers both in the United States and abroad.
Agra Energy’s CEO, Tony Long, praised KPE for its crucial role in providing operational expertise, startup assistance, and support during the commissioning of the first plant. With the successful startup of the initial unit, Agra looks forward to partnering with KPE to optimize the design of future units and increase production. Long believes that this collaboration will contribute to building a better world for farms and communities.
KPE’s scope of work includes commissioning, startup assistance, and incorporating lessons learned from the first plant into the design of future units. Additionally, KPE will integrate sustainable aviation fuel production capabilities into the design and carry out EPFCm for the second plant. Once operational, the second plant is projected to produce between 40 and 60 barrels per day (bpd) of renewable fuel. The second plant is expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2024.
This partnership with Agra Energy is a testament to KPE’s successful track record and its unique expertise in engineering, procurement, and modular fabrication. As part of the Shaw Group, KPE has demonstrated its capabilities in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.
