GS E&C has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the modularization of biodiesel production facilities with Topsoe, a Danish company that specializes in carbon reduction technologies.
A signing ceremony was held at GS E&C’s main office in Seoul on March 23 in the presence of Cho Sung-han, head of the Plant Division at GS E&C, and Soeren Selde Enevoldsen, head of renewable energy sales at Haldor Topsoe.
GS E&C plans to standardize and modularize Topsoe’s HydroFlex biodiesel production technology.
Topsoe will provide information on its biodiesel production technology, while GS E&C will standardize the design and construction of the plant based on its modularization expertise accumulated through large-scale refinery and chemical plant projects.
Plant modularization means that standardized modules for a core process are produced in advance and installed on a site. It has come into the spotlight as a technology-intensive eco-friendly plant business.
In particular, GS E&C plans to develop standardized modules and advance into the domestic and overseas biodiesel markets together with Topsoe. It aims to establish itself as a leader in the modularization of renewable energy processes.
