EBB, European Biodiesel Board Annual General Assembly elects leadership for the next two years.
During the 2022 EBB General Assembly, EBB members elected the new EBB Executive Board for the term 2022-2024. Mr. Dickon Posnett, from the company Argent Energy, was elected as EBB President, together with the 2 Vice-Presidents and 8 Board members.
Mr. Dickon Posnett is the Director of Corporate Affairs for Argent Energy (with footprint in The Netherlands and UK), where he helps to develop markets for renewable fuels through regulatory and legislative incentives across the EU.
He has been involved in the EBB for several years, both as a member of the EBB Executive Board, and as chair of the EBB Advanced Biodiesel Working Group. He also chairs the EBB REACH Consortium Steering Group in support of the EBB Secretariat. Alongside Mr. Posnett, the other EBB Executive Board members elected for the term 2022-2024 are:
Vice-Presidents:
- Alexis Cazin (Cargill)
- Jean-Philippe Penet (Saipol)
Board members: - Fredrik Ahlsen Berg (ADM)
- Ingrid Bausmerth (TotalEnergies)
- Joern Schneider (Masol)
- Michael Fiedler-Panajotopoulos (Chevron REG)
- Olivier Gross (BioOils)
- Pau Ferre (Bunge)
- Samuel Maubanc (Neste)
- Stefan Schreiber (Verbio)
Mr. Posnett replaced Ms. Kristell Guizouarn as EBB President, from the company Saipol (Group Avril, France), who successfully completed two terms as EBB President over the last four years. Ms. Guizouarn has had a very long and fruitful collaboration with the EBB, in which she held several responsibilities at technical and policy level.
The newly elected EBB President, said:
I am honoured by the confidence of EBB members in electing me to this post.
“Alongside my fellow Board members, we will be working with the EU and Member States to deliver the huge carbon savings in transport that this sector is capable of.”
Biodiesel from all sustainable raw materials is a key component for decarbonisation of the energy mix in Europe, and as development of other technologies is pushed to deliver, so must this sector be pushed by policy over the next decades to displace fossil fuel in hard to decarbonise sectors like heavy-duty vehicles, aviation and maritime.”
