Biomethane: Asja signs an agreement with Snam.

An agreement was signed today between Asja and Snam, through the subsidiary Snam4Environment, for the acquisition of a portfolio of plants and development projects in the field of treatment of OFMSW (organic fraction of municipal solid waste) and production of biomethane .

The operation concerns, in the first phase, the acquisition of four companies owning as many recently built plants in operation with a useful life of approximately 20 years located in Liguria, Lazio and Umbria, and the entry into a company that owns one plant under construction and one under development in Sicily. These plants have a total capacity of approximately 8.5 MW of which 6 MW in operation for an enterprise value of approximately 100 million euros .

The agreement also provides that Snam, upon the occurrence of certain conditions, will acquire five additional companies from Asja over time, owners of as many plants with a total capacity of approximately 16 MW , two of which are under construction in Piedmont and Lombardy, and three are under construction. authorization in Sicily.

The transaction will take place over the next five years , in relation to the various projects was developing the whose construction will be edited by Asja . The agreement also concerns personnel specialized in the operational management and supervision of the plants that will be acquired.

The agreement confirms Asja’s ability to identify and develop important initiatives in the field of renewable energy, not just electricity, and the circular economy, aimed at decarbonising the planet.

The resources will be reinvested in new projects, including innovative ones, which will contribute to the achievement of the European Fit for 55 target.
